My specially trained compassionate support team is available at 802-323-5200, from 7 am to 8 pm on weekdays and from 7 am to 6 pm on weekends, every day of the year except Thanksgiving and Christmas. They can talk through your concerns with you, answer your questions, and schedule your appointment—or just provide a listening ear and a shoulder to lean on, if that’s what you need.
For end-of-life home visits or consultations, my regular hours are Monday through Friday, 8–4:30. Same-day appointments for urgent visits may be available. There is an added fee of $175 for Saturday appointments, which are often available, or appointments starting at 4:30pm or later on weekdays.
Please check the bottom of this page for my planned time-off dates.
The fee for home euthanasia in my primary area (most of Washington County; see map below) is $400 for any size pet. This can include a physical exam and/or consultation if you wish (not required), and the euthanasia itself. Most euthanasia appointments are about 45 minutes to an hour or so, but the fee doesn’t change based on time, so you can take as much time as you wish. Outside of the primary area, a travel fee applies (see map below).
Cremation is available; fees are based on size and range from $250-400 if you would like your pet’s ashes returned to you, or $150-250 if you do not want the ashes returned. Cremation fees include all arrangements and transportation by me, immediately following your appointment. If you have chosen to have your pet’s ashes returned, I’ll have them for you typically in 2-3 weeks.
Home visits for exams and consultations are $325 for an appointment within the primary zone (see map below). A phone consult is $275. The initial at-home consultation and exam for one pet will take about an hour to an hour and a half, depending on the situation; phone consults may be a little shorter. Follow-up appointments of 45 minutes to an hour are $325 at home; shorter telemedicine consultations by phone or text are $120/hour. Any medications will be charged separately.
You can pay in advance online with a credit card, or with Venmo by calling the office; or you can pay at the time of your appointment with check, cash, credit card, or Venmo.
Please check the service area map below (click on your location) for information on zones and travel fees. If you’re in Vermont but are not in the service areas shown on the map, please call the office to see if I can come to your area. (I can’t make home visits outside of Vermont.)
